Queensland Parliament welcomes all visitors. Parliament House sits on the corner of George and Alice Streets in the Brisbane central business district. 

We’re open to the public for guided tours, to observe parliament in progress during sitting times, to dine in Strangers’ Restaurant and for corporate, private, charity events and more.

GETTING HERE

By Train

It’s approximately a 15-minute walk from Central Station if coming by train, alternatively take a stroll over the Goodwill Bridge. Check Translink for available times and services.

BY BUS

The closest bus stop is Charlotte Street Stop 52, near Edward St. Check Translink for routes, times and alternate stops.

BY KITTYCAT/FERRY

North Quay or Gardens Point ferry terminals are just a 10-minute walk from Parliament House. Brisbane City Council’s free hop-on, hop-off CityHopper ferry service runs between North Quay and Sydney Street, New Farm. Check Translink for more information.

BY CAR

During business hours there is no parking available on-site. Limited parking for evening and weekend events may be available, subject to approval. Please contact your events coordinator for more information.

Please note on sitting days there is no parking available to functions and guests.

You’ll find on-street paid metre parking in Alice Street and surrounding streets, as well as numerous parking stations.

Setting down by a driver on the forecourt of the annexe is permissible for people with mobility issues.

Regular passenger set-down is recommended at the George and Alice Street corner, QUT drop off at Frog’s Corner, with a brief walk down Alice Street toward the river, to enter the Parliamentary precinct.

ENTRY & ACCESSIBILITY

Entry to Parliament House is via the foyer in the Parliamentary Annex building in Alice Street.

Government-issued photo ID is required for everyone entering Parliament House. Your bags will also be scanned by our security staff and you’ll be asked to sign in.

QPH is wheelchair accessible. Please don’t hesitate to ask, should you require any assistance to enter. However, due to the many staircases and protected historic nature of the building, our tour routes are not entirely accessible and alternatives can be offered. If you or your group has accessibility needs, please advise us on your arrival.

Children and guests under the age of 18 are welcome at Parliament House, accompanied by an adult, for a tour, as a guest to an event, or with a booking for a meal. 

Entry to Queensland Parliament is free.
