Named after the Queensland Government’s paddle-steamer, the Lucinda Bar reflects the legacy of the vessel, which played a vital role in servicing lighthouses, delivering mail, and transporting ministers until its retirement in 1923.

In 1891, Lucinda became a key player in shaping Australia’s future. Queensland Premier Sir Samuel Griffith, along with fellow leaders, sailed aboard the steamer to Refuge Bay, where they met over Easter to draft important sections of the Australian Constitution.

Steeped in history and character, the Lucinda Bar, which retains many of its original features, such as the parquet floors, ornate plasterwork and coffered ceiling is an ideal location for networking events, private lunches or intimate cocktail receptions.

As a bonus, a small balustraded terrace offers a view across the Brisbane River to the West of Brisbane.

The Lucinda Bar is open to the general public between 12:00pm and 2.00pm Wednesday*, Thursday* and Fridays, and 5:30pm-9:00pm on Fridays only.
